Ekin community. He is also survived by brother Sam <strong>Gunn</strong> of Elwood, and five sisters;<br />

Mrs. Earl Mason and Mrs. Frank Powell of Nobleville; Mrs. George Spencer of Tipton;<br />

Mrs. Gifford Griffith of Kempton; and Mrs. Ivan Hays of <strong>New</strong>port Kentucky. Archie was<br />

a man of many friends with a disposition that made him agreeable to all. He was employed<br />

in the tin plate mills, at one time working in Atlanta in the old mill and for a time was<br />

employed in Elwood. He farmed most of his life. He was well acquainted in Tipton and<br />

Arena <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Arena May <strong>Gunn</strong>, 79, of <strong>New</strong>comerstown, Ohio died in her sleep at 4 a. m. today<br />

September 27, 1949 at the home of her son, Charles <strong>Gunn</strong>, 121 East Canal st., where she<br />

had lived for several years. Born Feb. 18, 1870, in Guernsey county, she was the foster<br />

daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Braniger. On Feb. H, 1888, she was married to John<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong>, who died 47 years ago. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a member of the Birmingham Methodist<br />

church. Surviving are two sons. Charles, at whose home she died, and Frank B. <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

Auburn, Ind'.; two daughters, Mrs. Granville Braniger and Mrs. Elizabeth McCullough.<br />

both of Cambridge: five grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Funeral<br />

arrangements in charge ol the Bonnell funeral home of <strong>New</strong>comerstown are incomplete.<br />

Arena Nell <strong>Gunn</strong> Walling<br />

FARWELL, TX - Arena Nell <strong>Gunn</strong> Walling, 76, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998. Services<br />

will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. J.L. Bass and the Rev.<br />

Richard Laverty officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Terrace by SteedTodd Funeral Home<br />

of Clovis, N.M. Mrs. Walling was born in Hillsboro and raised in Forrest, N.M. She<br />

married Milton "Mitz" Walling in 1942 at Clovis. During World War II, they lived in<br />

Wichita Falls, where Mrs. Walling worked as a secretary. They then moved to Farwell to<br />

farm. Mrs. Walling was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority and helped start the<br />

Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority Sisters in 1951. She was a member of First Baptist Church at<br />

Farwell. She also did volunteer work for Texas Boy's Ranch of Lubbock. Survivors include<br />

her husband; a daughter, Edith Ann Walling Bradley of Clovis; a son, Milton Lee Walling<br />

of Amarillo; a brother, Pete "Jr." <strong>Gunn</strong> of Logan, N.M.; three grandchildren; and two<br />

stepgrandchildren. The family requests memorials be for playground equipment at Farwell<br />

Park, the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Amarillo or the Texas Boy's Ranch (Thomas and<br />

Arlena <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

TUPELO - Arlena Brooks <strong>Gunn</strong>, 66, died Sunday, Jan, 4, 2004, at the North Mississippi<br />

Medical Center. She was born Sept. 21, 1937, in Crawford to L.P. and Nancy Samuels<br />

Brooks. She was a retired employee of Lanier Clothing after 35 years. She was a member of<br />

Spring Hill M.B. Church, where she was a member of the adult choir and the Ladies<br />

Missionary Society. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Spring Hill M.B. Church with
