92, of Route 4, U.S. Highway 123, Toccoa, Ga., died Monday, June 23, 1997. A native of<br />

Habersham County, Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a daughter of the late James Samuel and Ida Rumsey<br />

Busha and the widow of William G. <strong>Gunn</strong>. She had been employed by Hartwell Mills and<br />

was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Acree-Davis<br />

Funeral Home with the Rev. W.H. Preskitt officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Hill Baptist<br />

Church Cemetery. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Loyce Burden, Toccoa; and nieces and<br />

nephews. The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.<br />

Sarah Maxine <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

91, of Battle Creek, Michigan died Wednesday April 20, 2005 at Battle Creek Health System.<br />

She had been a resident at the Laurels of Bedford for several years. She was born March 14,<br />

1914, in Battle Creek to Richard and Barbara (Gearhart) Bennett. She was married August<br />

7, 1937, in Lansing, MI to Keith <strong>Gunn</strong>. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49<br />

years in 1986, her parents, two sisters, Nada Walter, Mary Tenney and three brothers,<br />

Ernest, Alton and John Bennett. Surviving are a brother, Clair Bennett of South Daytona,<br />

FL, a foster daughter, Mary Rizzo of Ypsilanti and many nieces and nephews. Sarah was<br />

known as Maxine by most of her family and friends. Maxine graduated from Battle Creek<br />

High School. She was employed for several years by Dr. Bertram Crase. Maxine and her<br />

husband, Keith, operated a foster care home for 13 years, where they cared for 133 children,<br />

many with special needs. In 1966 they were given a special recognition award for their foster<br />

parenting by Michigan Childrens Aid Society. Maxine enjoyed doing crafts and was an avid<br />

reader. She loved cooking and baking and often sold home make candy and baked goods for<br />

holidays and other special occasions. With her husband, she helped many years with the<br />

monthly Masonic dinners in Bedford. She liked to share her craft items with family and<br />

friends and enjoyed her yard and flowers when she was able. She attended Battle Creek<br />

Friends Church. Cremation has taken place, as she requested. Memorial services will be held<br />

at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005, with Jimmy<br />

Walker officiating. Interment of cremains at Riverside Cemetery, Bellevue, MI. Memorials<br />

may be to Children With Special Needs Fund, P.O. Box #30479, Lansing, MI 48909-7979, or<br />

Sarah Walker <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Mrs. Sarah Walker <strong>Gunn</strong>, 86, of Rt. 8, Reidsville, died Friday evening Dec 17, 1976, at her<br />

home following a long illness. A native of Rockingham County, she lived in the Wentworth<br />

community all her life. She was the daughter of the late George W. and Susan Roark Walker.<br />

Surviving are widower, Robert Earl <strong>Gunn</strong> of the home; daughters, Mrs. W. N. McCollum<br />

and Mrs. Henry Sands, both of Rt. 8; son, Bruce E. <strong>Gunn</strong> of Wentworth; one grandson.<br />

Graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Evergreen Memory Gardens, with the Rev.<br />

Robert L. Turner officiating. Entombment was at the cemetery.<br />

Sarina E. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

of O'Fallon, Missouri, died on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the age of 74. Loving wife of<br />

Robert Eugene <strong>Gunn</strong>; beloved daughter of the late Ernest and Josephine Novellli; devoted<br />

mother of Michael (Van) <strong>Gunn</strong>, JoAnn Caraway and Steve <strong>Gunn</strong>; cherished grandmother of<br />

Benjamin, Melissa and Kate; treasured great-grandmother of Sarina; dear brother of
