Club. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> has shared her music with those in hospitals and nursing homes, on garden<br />

tours and countless other events. Surviving are her husband, A. T. <strong>Gunn</strong> of the home; one<br />

son, William B. <strong>Gunn</strong>, Harrisonburg; one sister, Mrs. Donald Hartzog, Winston-Salem,<br />

N.C.; five grandchildrenand two geat-grandchildren. The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m.<br />

in Main Street United Methodist Church by the Rev. Richard Faris. Interment will be in<br />

Mountain View Cemetery. The family is at the residence, 181 Linden Drive, and Townes<br />

Nita Jo <strong>Gunn</strong> Heckaman<br />

Nita Jo Heckaman, 49, of Post passed away Friday, June 25, at her home after a courageous<br />

battle with cancer. The services were Tuesday, June 29, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist<br />

Church in Post. Burial followed at Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Justice Mason<br />

Funeral Home. Nita Jo was born October 7, 1960 in Slaton to Oneita Jones <strong>Gunn</strong> and<br />

Clarence <strong>Gunn</strong>. She was raised on the family farm in Garza County, and graduated from<br />

Post High School in 1979. On June 23, 1979, Nita Jo married Bobby Heckaman in Post. After<br />

working and living all over the Panhandle of Texas and <strong>New</strong> Mexico, Bobby and Nita Jo<br />

settled in Post in 1992. She was employed by the Post ISD. Nita Jo was also a longtime<br />

member of the Post Band Boosters and was a leader in Garza Co. 4-H Activities. Nita Jo was<br />

preceded in death by her father, Clarence <strong>Gunn</strong> and her grandparents, Barnie and Evelyn<br />

Jones of Post. She is survived by her husband, Bobby; two daughters, Breann of Lubbock<br />

and Dionn of San Angelo; one son, Allen and his wife Jessica and their daughter Riley of San<br />

Angelo. She is also survived by her mother Oneita <strong>Gunn</strong> of Post; one sister, Darlene Speck,<br />

her husband Gary and their two children of Wall; one brother, Danny <strong>Gunn</strong>, his wife<br />

Melinda and their three children of Idalou. Nita Jo is also survived by her mother–in-law,<br />

Margaret Heckaman of Pikeville, TN and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many special<br />

friends. Pallbearers were: Scott Speck, Garrett <strong>Gunn</strong>, Brady <strong>Gunn</strong>, Bud Jones, Darrell<br />

Reece, Andrew Dorow and Cass Tatum. Memorials may be made to the charity of your<br />

choice<br />

Noble <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

CLIFTON HILL, Aug. 13 — Noble <strong>Gunn</strong> a former Randolph County, Mo. resident died<br />

yesterday afternoon, August 12 1936 , at 4 o'clock at his home in Turpin, Okla- He was 72<br />

years old. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. L. R. Cantrell and Miss Helen <strong>Gunn</strong>. The<br />

body will be brought to Clifton Hill tomorrow afternoon and taken to the home of W.L.<br />

Baker Funeral services will be conducted later to the afternoon at the Clifton Hill cemetery<br />

by the Rev. L. T. Cagle.<br />

Noma <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Mrs. Joe R. <strong>Gunn</strong>, 81 of 3721 McKinney, a descendant of one of the founding families of<br />

Dallas, died Wednesday in Wichita Falls, where she was visiting. A lifetime Dallas resident,<br />

Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a great grandfather of John Beeman, who with John Neely Bryan were the<br />

first settlers here. She was a member of the Baptist church and the Bluebonnet chapter of<br />

the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors: four daughter, Mrs. Henry Scarborough of Dallas,<br />

Mrs. Henry C. Fulcher of Wichita Falls, Mrs. Russell Brickell of Washington, DC and Mrs.<br />

John W. Keebler of Willows, Califo; three sons; Joe R. <strong>Gunn</strong>, Jr., of Kentfield, California;<br />

Robert <strong>Gunn</strong> of Mill Balley California; and Harold D. <strong>Gunn</strong> of Oxford, Pa; 25
