Christian. She is survived by daughter, Mary Helen Yunker; grandchildren, Rhonda
Crook and Raymond Vining; great-grandchildren, Ryan Jones, Casey Vining, Bailey
Lamar Vining, Gary Wharton; and great-great-granddaughter, Alexandria Jade. A
memorial service was held Dec. 22, at Central Christian Church in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mary Gunn will be put to rest in the spring, next to my father, Lamar Gunn.

Versilles, Mo., Mary Gunn, 67, Eldon, widow of Ben Gunn, died Friday May 30, 1958 at
her home. Born August 17, 1891 in Morgan County, she was the daughter of john Porter
and Ronnie Cooper Porter. Surviving are 7 brothers, Arthur Porter, Boonville, George
Porter, kansas City, and Emanuel Porter, Leonard Porter and Charles Porter all of
Versilles. The body will lie in state at the Versailles funeral home until services at 2 pm
Sunday in the Union Church at Rocky Mount, southwest of Eldon.
Mary Gunn
88, of Providence Rt. 1, died yesterday 12-11-1972, in Taylor Heights Rest Home in
Yanceyville, NC. She had been in declining health for several years and in serious condition
for four months. Born in North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late George Hicks and
Virginia Maddox Hicks. She was the widow of Ernest L. Gunn. She was a member of
Bethel United Methodist Church and the W.S.C.S. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Virginia
Anderson of Arcata, Calif.; four sons, Irvin S. Gunn of Bonifrey, Fla., Marvin E. Gunn of
Providence Route 1, and Herman L. Gunn and Howard S. Gunn, both of Yanceyville; and
10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted
tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Harold T. Pickett and
Dr. Haywood Harrell. Burial will be in the cemetery of Providence United Methodist
Church. The family will receive friends at Caswell Funeral Home tonight from 8 to 9
o"clock. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Herman Gunn in Yanceyville,

Mary Alice Gunn
Mary Alice Gunn Bennett of Seneca, Mo., died at 7:55 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2004, at
Freeman Neosho, Mo., Hospital after an illness. She was 82. Bennett was born Nov. 10,
1921, in Charlestown, W.Va., to Francis E. and Ida Kate Gunn. She owned and operated
the Town and Country Wear in Seneca for many years. She was a member of Seneca
Christian Church. She married George R. Bennett on April 22, 1938, in Seneca. He
survives. Additional survivors include one son, Richard "Rick" Bennett of Seneca; one
daughter, Linda Neal of Sarcoxie, Mo.; three grandchildren, Patrick Bennett of Seneca,
Capt. Tyler Green of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Brian Green of St. Louis, Mo., and five
great-grandchildren, Carson Green, Parker Green, Bennett Green, Alex Green and Daniel
Green. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Seneca Christian Church with Truman
Brady officiating. Burial will be in Seneca Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Truman Brady,
Ken Brady, Kenny Neal, Ronal Bennett, Mark Bennett and Charles Holt. Arrangements
