Josephine C. (Cunningham) Haley <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

a lifetime area resident, passed away on August 18 at Kirkland Village. She was 96 years<br />

old. Jo worked at the Bethlehem Steel Company as a secretary for 34 years and retired in<br />

1981. After retiring Jo did volunteer work for the Bethlehem Visiting Nurse Association. Jo<br />

was a parishioner of St. Annes Catholic Church and a member of the Sodality. She also<br />

belonged to the Bethlehem Womens Club and the Bethlehem Garden Club, where she was<br />

the Corresponding Secretary. Jo was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Carolyn V.<br />

(Miller) Cunningham of Bethlehem. She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph<br />

Haley and her second husband Howard J. <strong>Gunn</strong> Jr. and her sister Catherine Cunningham.<br />

Survivors: She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Mary Jo Siwy and family pet<br />

Dutchess of Walden, NY, and her son, Thomas J. Haley, Sr. and his wife Jean of Shallotte,<br />

NC; a brother, William C. Cunningham of Bethlehem, and a sister, Sr. Charles Teresa<br />

Cunningham of St. Josephs Villa of Flourtown, PA; and her five grandchildren: Michael J.<br />

Siwy and his wife Sara and their children Lauren and Haley, Michele Greak and her<br />

husband Thomas; Donna Marie McCarthy and her husband Justin with their children<br />

Steven Howard and Kayleigh; Thomas Haley and his son Joseph; Patrick Haley and his<br />

daughter Patricia; and her loving companion, Harry H. Howard. Services: Friends may<br />

call on Friday 9 to 10 a.m. at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem and<br />

followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Annes Catholic Church, 450<br />

Washington Avenue. Bethlehem, PA. Interment will be private in Holy Saviour Cemetery,<br />

Bethlehem.<br />

Josephine <strong>Gunn</strong> Barnes<br />

died Monday July 13, 1931 at 8:10 pm at the reidence of her husband, 1233 W. Cary Street<br />

in Richmond. Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine <strong>Gunn</strong> Barnes, wife of R. K. Barnes will<br />

be held at 3:30 o’clock this afternoon from Richmond Christadelphian Church on Ellwood<br />

Avenue and Sheppard Street. Interment in Riverview Cemetery here. Mrs. Barnes died<br />

Monday night at her residence 1233 West Cary Street. She is survived by her husband:<br />

two sons, R. A. Barnes of Lynchburg, and J. A. Barnes of this City, and two brothers; L. F.<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> of Nottoway County, Va., and Jack <strong>Gunn</strong> of Jack <strong>Gunn</strong> of Jackson Mississippi -<br />
