Katherine Ware <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Mrs. B. R. <strong>Gunn</strong> Mrs. B. R. <strong>Gunn</strong>, wife of Gilbert High School"s principal, died at 5 a.m.<br />

May 14 at Rogers clinic here after a long illness. Born December 23, 1901 at Starkville,<br />

Miss., Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was Miss Katherine Ware before her marriage, and came to Gilbert 33<br />

years ago when Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> joined the Gilbert High School faculty. She was a member and<br />

Sunday school teacher of First Baptist church of Gilbert, the church WMU, Gilbert<br />

Woman"s Club, Diamond-Hawthorne American Legion auxiliary and a charter member of<br />

Oakley chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. Funeral services for Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Gilbert, with the Rev. W. C.<br />

Hall and C. A. Martin officiating. Interment was in <strong>My</strong>rtle Memorial cemetery,<br />

Winnsboro. Survivors are her husband, B. R. <strong>Gunn</strong>, her daughter, Edleen G. Marczak, a<br />

grandson, Stanley A. Marczak, Jr. all of Gilbert; and a sister, Miss Edleen Ware, Pineville.<br />

Pallbearers were J. C. Monroe, S. H. Rhodes, S. W. Williamson, P. H. Hammond, J. R.<br />

Jones, and Marion Shelton. (Mrs. Bernard Rush <strong>Gunn</strong>)<br />

Kathleen <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Oak Run, Ca - Kathleen <strong>Gunn</strong>, beloved Mother and champion of compassion and service<br />

to her community, passed on from this existence on August 14, 2008 surrounded by her<br />

loved ones. Kathleen was a strong compassionate woman, who never tired of helping not<br />

only her family, but those in need in her community and beyond. She raised six children<br />

and embodied the values and beliefs of her faith, sharing those strengths with her children<br />

and her community. She was born on February 8, 1955 in Napa, CA. to her arents Robert<br />

and Vera <strong>Gunn</strong>. She resided in the Bay Area until 1985, when she relocated with her family<br />

to the community of Oak Run, CA. Where she remained a resident until her 8 year battle<br />

with breast cancer brought her life to a peaceful end on August 14, 2008. She will be<br />

missed. She is survived by her six children: Hugh Ford Stewart IV, Emily Stewart,<br />

Amanda Stratton, Sarah Kovarik, Stephen Stratton, James Robert Deskins. And her six<br />

grandchildren: Crystal, Stephen, Wyatt, Brian, Robby, and Olivia. Memorial services will<br />

be held at the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints on Friday August 22, 2008 at<br />

11:00 A.M. located at 3410 Churn Creek Road. in Redding, CA. Followed by a private<br />

burial ceremony at the Whitmore Community Cemetery at 4:00 P.M.<br />

Kathy Sue Payne <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Humboldt, TN - Kathy Sue Payne <strong>Gunn</strong>, age 58, was born November 16, 1953 in Memphis,<br />

TN. She entered Heaven's Gate on June 23, 2012. Kathy had become very involved with<br />

the Jackson Chapter, Tennessee Association for the Deaf, and worked at West Tennessee<br />

School for the Deaf. She worked as a nurse for numerous years in Humboldt, Jackson,<br />

West Arkansas and Lexington, TN. She loved quilting, knitting and going on vacations<br />

with her husband. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed preparing meals for family and<br />

friends. Kathy leaves her loving husband of 20 years, Raymond <strong>Gunn</strong>; children, Debroah<br />

Zamora of Las Vegas, Bridgett (Bo) Bodiford of Milan, Tina Lucky of Humboldt and<br />

Charles Lewis Stone of Medina; step mother, Shirley Payne of Humboldt; siblings, Mary<br />

(Albert) Rhenehart, Judith Payne, Rose Barnes and Jerry Payne; 18 grandchildren; 4<br />

great-grandchildren. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis E. Payne and<br />

Ruby Flowers. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from the Chapel of<br />

Medina Funeral Home, with Father Bill Burke officiating. Burial in Antioch Cemetery.
