Carrie Witty Gunn Thompson
REIDSVILLE, NC - Carrie Witty (Gunn) Thompson, 83, of 4061 Vance St. Ext, died early
Wednesday morning, Dec. 21, 1994, at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will
be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn
Memorial Gardens. A native of Rockingham County, she was a member of Calvary Baptist
Church, retired from Fieldcrest Mills, and partner of the T & G Greennhouse. Surviving
are son, Allen Gunn of Reidsville; daughter, Joyce Anne Puckett of Reidsville; four
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home,
and other times at her home. Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis

Carroll Wayne Gunn
Graveside services for Carroll Wayne Gunn, 91, of Portales, will be at 2:00 PM on Monday,
January 7, 2013, at Portales Cemetery with Rev. Dick Ross Officiating. Masonic Lodge #26
will render Masonic Rites. Honorary Pallbearers for Wayne will be his family and friends,
especially his golfing friends. Wayne was born on May 27, 1921, in Crosbyton, Texas to
Fredrick and Adella (Gilliland) Gunn and went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2013, in
Portales. At the age of five his family moved to Portales, Texas which he has called home all
his life. On April 19, 1946, he married Mary "Kay" Kathryn Musick and together they
worked, Wayne as a Bookkeeper and Kay in the Administration at Eastern. He and Kay
loved to travel in their RV and were members of the Good Sam RV Club as well as local
clubs. Wayne was a musician, playing the clarinet and saxophone, for several local swing
bands. He was a veteran of WWII and was stationed at Ft. Myers and in Alamogordo.
Wayne was an avid golfer and had won numerous local tournaments. Wayne was a
member of the local Masonic Lodge #26. Wayne is survived by his sister, Merlyn Sprague
of Orlando, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his

Carter Tredway Gunn,
passed away Sunday, March 12, 2006. He was born in 1947 to Bishop George and Frances
Gunn in Norfolk, VA, as the youngest of three brothers. He is survived by his wife of 35
years, Bobbi; and his two children, Allen and Robyn. He graduated from Norfolk Academy
with the Class of 1965, received his B.A. in History from the University of Virginia and
entered the Coast Guard, eventually retiring as a Commander. He then attended George
Mason University where he received his Masters in Education, followed by the University
of Virginia School of Law where he received his J.D. in 1976. Upon graduating, he joined
the law firm of Vandeventer & Black where he became partner in 1981, and practiced for
30 years. He specialized in maritime law, serving as general counsel to the Hampton Roads
Shipping Association, Hampton Roads Maritime Association, Virginia Pilots Association
and Allied Marine Industries. He was a member of the Norfolk and Portsmouth Bar
