Loraine Priscilla <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

REIDSVILLE - Ms. Lorraine Priscilla <strong>Gunn</strong>, formerly of Reidsville, died Thursday morning<br />

November 17, 2005 in Tampa Bay, Florida. The family may be contacted at the residence of<br />

Quintin and Deborah McAlister, 221 La La Drive. Funeral arrangements are pending at<br />

Lorene <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Mrs. Lorene <strong>Gunn</strong>, 81, of 1309 Grace Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at<br />

her daughter"s home in Atlantic Beach, Fla. She had been a resident of the area since 1972,<br />

coming here from Orlando, Fla. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was a member of Central Baptist Church and<br />

former member of the Eastern Star of Fort Benning, Ga. She was a registered "Yellow Dog<br />

Democrat." As this "Yellow Dog Democrat" said in casting her last absentee ballot when asked<br />

to consider voting for a Republican said, "No one could trust them." Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> also enjoyed<br />

following the Atlanta Braves, watching soap operas and reading the National Enquirer. She<br />

is survived by three daughters, Maudine Sterling Kaufman and her husband Jarold of Atlantic<br />

Beach, and Gloria <strong>Gunn</strong> Spain and Anita Joy <strong>Gunn</strong>, both of Panama City; two sons, Larry Joe<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> of Callaway, Fla., and Jerry William <strong>Gunn</strong> of Panama City; eight grandchildren,<br />

William E. <strong>Gunn</strong>, Terry <strong>Gunn</strong> and Dana G. McMullen, all of Merritt Island, Fla., Robert E.<br />

Sterling of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Richard Lee Sterling of Atlantic Beach, Lisa <strong>Gunn</strong> Furst<br />

and Curtis <strong>Gunn</strong> Marcott, all of Orlando, and Kim Spain Mosley of Atlanta; and eight greatgrandchildren.<br />

Funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Kent-Forest Lawn<br />

Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating. Interment will follow at<br />

Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Ricky Sterling, Bobby<br />

Sterling, Billy <strong>Gunn</strong>, Clyde Smith, Terry <strong>Gunn</strong> and Jarold Kaufman. The family will receive<br />

friends at the funeral home today, Dec. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home<br />

Lorene E. <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

90, of Parma, Ohio, formerly of Flushing, Ohio, died Thursday, June 9, 2005 in Parma. She<br />

was born Oct. 7, 1914 in Perkins, W.Va., a daughter of the late Oliver L. and Amy Gay Frame<br />

White. Lorene was a former school teacher and a clerk for McNeal"s Goods of Flushing. In<br />

addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John White, and her sisters,<br />

Mary White and Edna Norman. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Martin (Billie Jo) Purtiman<br />

of Parma, a grandson, Franklin (Teresa) Purtiman of Lexington, Ohio, and two brothers,<br />

Bernard (Josephine) White and Arthur L. White, both of Charleston, W.Va. Friends will be<br />

received Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory in<br />

St. Clairsville, Ohio. A graveside funeral service will then be held, Monday at noon, in Rock<br />

Hill Cemetery, Flushing, Ohio, with Rev. Bob Merritt officiating. Online condolences may be<br />

Lorenzo <strong>Gunn</strong>,<br />

a retired biology and general science teacher at Alcee Fortier High School, died Sunday of a<br />

stroke at University Hospital. He was 72. Mr. <strong>Gunn</strong> was born in Fulton City, Tenn., and lived<br />

in Baltimore for many years and in <strong>New</strong> Orleans for the past 25 years. He graduated from<br />

Frederick Douglass High School in Baltimore and Morehouse College in Atlanta and received
