Mary T. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

81, of Cranston Rhode Island passed away Thursday November 22, 2007 at Kent Hospital,<br />

Warwick. Born in Providence a daughter of the late Peter J. and Marie T. (Degnan) <strong>Gunn</strong>.<br />

Miss <strong>Gunn</strong> was the office manager for Teamsters Local # 251 for 41 years before retiring.<br />

She was the sister of Martha B. <strong>Gunn</strong> of Cranston, Anne E. <strong>Gunn</strong> of Cranston , William B.<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> of Warwick and the late James and Angela <strong>Gunn</strong>.Relatives and friends are invited to<br />

attend a Mass of Christian Burial TUESDAY at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church. Burial will be<br />

in St. Ann Cemetery. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers donations in<br />

Mary"s memory to St. Mark Church, 9 Garden Court, Cranston, RI 02920 would be<br />

Mary Blanche <strong>Gunn</strong> Howerton Bowe<br />

Mary G. Howerton Bowe, 86, entered into eternal rest on September 16, 2004, at Colonial<br />

Heights Health Care Center. Born in Charlotte County, she was the daughter of the late<br />

Johnnie and Blanche <strong>Gunn</strong>. Mrs. Bowe lived most of her life in Dinwiddie County. She was<br />

a member of Southside Baptist Church in Petersburg. She is survived by her husband,<br />

William L. "Bill" Bowe of Colonial Heights; three children, Dorothy M. Allgood and<br />

husband, Herbert, of Petersburg, Joyce Thomas and husband, Morris, of Alpine, Ala., and<br />

C. B. Howerton, Jr., of Dinwiddie; a sister, Clara Lee Daves of Richmond; five<br />

grandchildren, Terry Thomas Cottongim and husband, Lee, of Sylacauga, Ala., Keith<br />

Allen Thomas of Alabama, Sharon Howerton Brown and husband, Gene, of Dinwiddie,<br />

Becky Howerton, and Norman Howerton, both of Petersburg; three great-grandchildren,<br />

Nicole Cottongim, Barbara Brown, and Walter Eugene Brown; numerous nieces and<br />

nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2004, in the<br />

Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Rd.<br />

Pastor Arthur Lands will officiate. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park,<br />

Prince George. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.<br />

Flowers are welcome, or you may make donations in Mary"s memory to Southside Baptist<br />

Church, 2007 Boydton Plank Rd., Petersburg, Va. "Mom is home at last! No more pains or<br />

sorrows!"<br />

Mary Quarles <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

79, wife of Akors Rathborn <strong>Gunn</strong>, died Wednesday morning at the resident of her<br />

daughter, Mrs. John G. Bruce, in Bluefield, WVA., She was the daughter of the late<br />

Benjamin Mosby Quarles and Nannie Eubank Quarles both of Richmond. In addition to<br />

her husband and her daughter, Mrs. Bruce, she is survived by three grandchildren; John<br />

G. Burce Jr., George Rathborn Burce; and Arthur Chilton Burce, all of Bluefield and a<br />

niece, Mrs. William R. Gardner of Richmond. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Friday<br />

at the Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Home, third and Marshall Street, with burial in Hollywood<br />

Cemetery, her in Richmond, Va. 11-14-1940 Richmond Times Disptach, page 16.<br />
