Throughout her working life, she was an exemplary legal secretary, working for top law<br />

firms throughout Texas and at one point, entered a competition for “The Fastest Typist in<br />

Texas” and won with a score of 125 error-free words per minute. Frances was an active<br />

member of the First Presbyterian Church in Odessa, Texas, for almost 50 years and spent<br />

some of that time working in the Church office. She was also a Pink Lady at Medical<br />

Center Hospital Auxiliary for many years. She loved to read and travel. Her sense of<br />

humor and love of adventure garnered many friends throughout her life. Mom was totally<br />

devoted to her family and her legacy of love will live forever in our hearts. She was truly<br />

one of a kind. Our heartfelt thanks and most sincere appreciation goes out to Tammy<br />

Solley and the Star Health Staff, Glory Cushing, doctors J. Naidu and R. Patel, and the 5th<br />

Floor Central staff of Medical Center Hospital, Odessa, for their loving care and support of<br />

our Mom. You were her Earthly Angels. Arrangements to be handled by Acres West and<br />

memorial to be held at First Presbyterian Church, Odessa, Texas, on June 25 at 10 a.m.<br />

with a reception to follow. A celebration of her life by her extended family will be held in<br />

Frances Smith <strong>Gunn</strong>, 83, Hillsboro, Ill. died Saturday (July 4, 1992). Retired seamstress.<br />

Member, United Methodist Church, Hillsboro. Survivors: sons, Harry Maynard, Houston,<br />

Texas; Merlyn E. and Bruce Dale, both of Hillsboro; Clyde E., Pawnee; daughter, Twila<br />

Everett, Hillsboro; sister Juanita Shoemaker, Nokomis.Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Patton<br />

Memorial Home, Hillsboro. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Burial: Woodside Cemetery,<br />

Hillsboro. Memorials: Hillsboro Hospital Foundation.<br />

Frances V. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

FORT WORTH - Frances Virginia <strong>Gunn</strong>, 85, a homemaker, died Sunday Dec 26, 1994, at<br />

a Fort Worth hospital. Graveside service: 1 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial<br />

Park. Arrangements: Thompson"s Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was born<br />

in Abilene and had lived in Fort Worth most of her life. She was a member of Connell<br />

Baptist Church, Women of Rotary and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was the<br />

founder and first president of Kappa Sigma Wives and Mothers Club at Texas Christian<br />

University. Her husband, Ewell F. "Pete" <strong>Gunn</strong>, died in 1972. Survivors: Son, Robert F.<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> of Fort Worth; brother, Edgar Alford of Fort Worth; two sisters, Louise A. Lyle and<br />

Helen A. Wilkinson, both of Fort Worth; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson.<br />

Francis <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Francis <strong>Gunn</strong> o£ 4538 Cleveland avenue, Stevensville, Michigan died at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday<br />

at his home. He was born in Scotland and had resided in this area for 25 years, coming<br />

from Chicago. He was retired from the Pullman Company. Surviving are his widow Julie<br />

and one sister in Chicago. Private funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the<br />

Kerlikowske and Starks funeral home. Dr. George Fisk, pastor of the First Congregational
