Ruth Helen Gunn
of Mount Carmel Church Road, Reidsville, NC, died Saturday at Moses Cone Memorial
Hospital. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Carmel Church cemetery. A
native of Rockingham County, she was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at
Greensboro and taught in Winston-Salem. She retired after teaching in the Rockingham
County school system. She was a member of the Happy Home United Church of Christ.
Surviving are sister, Miss Clarice Gunn of the home; brothers Edwin A. Gunn of Reidsville,
Marvin L. Gunn of Asheville. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Carmel
Church cemetery fund, to Happy Home United Church of Christ, or to the charity of the

Ruth Gunn
Graveside services for Ruth Gunn, 74, of Deer Park, TX were held Saturday, December 27,
2008 at Brookeland Cemetery in Brookeland, TX. Ruth died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at
Meridan Care Center in San Antonio, TX. A native of Brookeland, she was a longtime Deer
Park resident. A 1950 graduate of Brookeland High School, she received her Bachelors &
Masters degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. She was a 2nd grade Teacher in the
Pasadena ISD for several years until becoming the bookkeeper for the San Jacinto Inn until
its closure. She enjoyed reading and hosting her Thursday Bridge Club. She was a member
of the League of Women Voters. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Charlie Gunn of
Deer Park, TX, son Chuck Gunn & wife Rachael of Houston, TX, daughter Cathy Waldon &
husband Bill of Victoria, TX, sister, Francis Jane Roach of White Oak, TX, 2 grandchildren,
Chris Waldon, Pamela Kramer & husband Zach, 2 great grandchildren, Isaac Kramer and
Keagan Kramer. She is also survived by a number of cousins, nieces & nephews. Memorials
may be made to the charity of your choice.
Ruth Gunn (Robertson)
McKenzie, Tn - Ruth Gunn Robertson, 81, died Sunday, July 13, at her home. Funeral
services are Thursday, July 17, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro.
Dennis Trull officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie. Mrs.
Robertson was born November 15, 1926 in Porterdale, Georgia to the late Labon Festus
Gunn and Annie Lee Ada Preston Gunn. She was a retired LPN at McKenzie Regional
Hospital, member of First Baptist Church of McKenzie, and lifelong member of VFW Ladies
Auxiliary. Survivors include: her husband, William “Bill” Robertson of McKenzie; one son,
John Douglas (Cheryl) Tison of White House; one daughter, Sonja (Kenneth) Sides of
Gaylord, Michigan; one sister, Irene Driver of Conyers, Georgia; and four grandchildren,
