Ruth Helen <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

of Mount Carmel Church Road, Reidsville, NC, died Saturday at Moses Cone Memorial<br />

Hospital. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Carmel Church cemetery. A<br />

native of Rockingham County, she was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at<br />

Greensboro and taught in Winston-Salem. She retired after teaching in the Rockingham<br />

County school system. She was a member of the Happy Home United Church of Christ.<br />

Surviving are sister, Miss Clarice <strong>Gunn</strong> of the home; brothers Edwin A. <strong>Gunn</strong> of Reidsville,<br />

Marvin L. <strong>Gunn</strong> of Asheville. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Carmel<br />

Church cemetery fund, to Happy Home United Church of Christ, or to the charity of the<br />

donor"s choice. Wilkerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Greensboro <strong>New</strong>s<br />

Ruth <strong>Gunn</strong> Age 78 Omaha, Nebraska. Survived by sons, Larry, Jim and Bob Hastings and<br />

Jack <strong>Gunn</strong>. VISITATION Sunday 2-4pm. FUNERAL Monday 10am all at the funeral<br />

Ruth <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Graveside services for Ruth <strong>Gunn</strong>, 74, of Deer Park, TX were held Saturday, December 27,<br />

2008 at Brookeland Cemetery in Brookeland, TX. Ruth died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at<br />

Meridan Care Center in San Antonio, TX. A native of Brookeland, she was a longtime Deer<br />

Park resident. A 1950 graduate of Brookeland High School, she received her Bachelors &<br />

Masters degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. She was a 2nd grade Teacher in the<br />

Pasadena ISD for several years until becoming the bookkeeper for the San Jacinto Inn until<br />

its closure. She enjoyed reading and hosting her Thursday Bridge Club. She was a member<br />

of the League of Women Voters. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Charlie <strong>Gunn</strong> of<br />

Deer Park, TX, son Chuck <strong>Gunn</strong> & wife Rachael of Houston, TX, daughter Cathy Waldon &<br />

husband Bill of Victoria, TX, sister, Francis Jane Roach of White Oak, TX, 2 grandchildren,<br />

Chris Waldon, Pamela Kramer & husband Zach, 2 great grandchildren, Isaac Kramer and<br />

Keagan Kramer. She is also survived by a number of cousins, nieces & nephews. Memorials<br />

may be made to the charity of your choice.<br />

Ruth <strong>Gunn</strong> (Robertson)<br />

McKenzie, Tn - Ruth <strong>Gunn</strong> Robertson, 81, died Sunday, July 13, at her home. Funeral<br />

services are Thursday, July 17, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro.<br />

Dennis Trull officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McKenzie. Mrs.<br />

Robertson was born November 15, 1926 in Porterdale, Georgia to the late Labon Festus<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> and Annie Lee Ada Preston <strong>Gunn</strong>. She was a retired LPN at McKenzie Regional<br />

Hospital, member of First Baptist Church of McKenzie, and lifelong member of VFW Ladies<br />

Auxiliary. Survivors include: her husband, William “Bill” Robertson of McKenzie; one son,<br />

John Douglas (Cheryl) Tison of White House; one daughter, Sonja (Kenneth) Sides of<br />

Gaylord, Michigan; one sister, Irene Driver of Conyers, Georgia; and four grandchildren,
