Edna <strong>Gunn</strong> McCollum<br />

WENTWORTH — Edna <strong>Gunn</strong> McCollum, of Reidsville, N.C., died Saturday, January 9,<br />

2010, at her home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday,<br />

January 12, in Evergreen Memory Gardens with Dr. Bill Hayes and Rev. Marty Brim<br />

officiating. A native of Rockingham County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Earlie<br />

and Sarah Walker <strong>Gunn</strong> and had lived in the Wentworth Community of Rockingham<br />

County her entire life. She was a retired school teacher with Rockingham County Schools<br />

and a member of Wentworth Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her<br />

husband, William N. McCollum and a brother, Bruce E. <strong>Gunn</strong>. Surviving are her sister,<br />

Bettie G. Sands and husband, Henry, of Wentworth; nephew, Wayne <strong>Gunn</strong> of Kingsville,<br />

Texas; and special pet, Eddy. The family will see friends from 5 until 6:30 p.m. on<br />

Monday, January 11, at Citty Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of her<br />

sister, Bettie Sands, 333 Valley Level Road, Reidsville. Memorials may be made to<br />

Wentworth Presbyterian Church, 333 Valley Level Road, Reidsville, NC 27320, or to<br />

Hospice of Rockingham County, P.O. Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.<br />

Edna Elizabeth Brox Ogden <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

1922 ; 2005 ST. GEORGE, UT - Our beloved mother finally left this world for a better one.<br />

She suffered her whole life from Cysteine Kidney disease, but what a life it was. She was<br />

born July 4, 1922, in Salina, Utah to George Jacob Brox, Jr., and Rachel Rasmussen. Edna<br />

grew up in Marysvale. She married Dale Ross Ogden in the Manti LDS Temple when she<br />

was 17. Had three children and then in 1949 the family got little Bill (a Navajo baby). She<br />

and Dale worked with the Indian Placement Program in its earliest years. In 1954 the<br />

family moved to Southern California and into the Carpet business. She was a beautiful self<br />

taught musician and played the piano and organ and had many beautiful choirs. Her<br />

commitment to the Gospel and her love for Jesus Christ was her life and her love for her<br />

family and services to them. She especially loved beautiful things and nature, Lake Powell<br />

was her favorite. She and Dale introduced many to its special places. They retired to St.<br />

George in 1983, Dale passed away in 1992. She married Dr. Wallace <strong>Gunn</strong> in 1993, and<br />

they had eight years together. She is survived by her children; Linda (Lowell) Callaway,<br />

Steven (Toni), Bill (Marsha); brothers, Rulon (Barbara) Brox and Blaine (Jeanette) Brox;<br />

15 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was<br />

preceded in death by husbands Dale and Wally; son John Paul Ogden; grandsons, Bill<br />

Ogden, Jr., and Christopher Callaway; granddaughter, Amy Lynn Ogden. Thanks to Dixie<br />

Dialysis for helping us to have these four years. In lieu of flowers contributions to Primary<br />

Children"s Medical Center would be appreciated. Funeral services will be held Friday,
