Mary E. C. <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

Mary Elizabeth Carper <strong>Gunn</strong>, 90, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, in a Nags Head nursing<br />

home. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was born in Botetourt County, Va., and was a homemaker. She was a<br />

member of Roanoke Baptist Church, Roanoke Rapids, N.C., the Halifax Memorial<br />

Hospital Auxiliary and attended Blackstone College. She was the daughter of the late John<br />

William and Carrie Circle Carper and the widow of the late Leonard McGuire <strong>Gunn</strong>. Mrs.<br />

<strong>Gunn</strong> is survived by a daughter, Arline Hux of Manns Harbor, N.C.; a son, William <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

of Prince George, Va.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A graveside service<br />

will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone, Va. Memorial<br />

donations may be made to the charity of one"s choice. Arrangements are being provided by<br />

Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo, N.C., and Hamner-McMillian Funeral Home, Blackstone,<br />

Mary Ellen <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

age 91, of Adamsville, Alabama went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday,<br />

October 3, 2008. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was Pastor of Red Hill Church of God for forty six years.<br />

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5th at Bell Funeral Home<br />

Forestdale Chapel with burial at Red Hill Church of God Cemetery (Blount Co.). Thomas<br />

Moody, Chaplain and Rev. Frederick Rizzo will be officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday<br />

from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard C. <strong>Gunn</strong>. She is<br />

survived by her daughter, Annie R. Crane; sons, John C. <strong>Gunn</strong>, George H. <strong>Gunn</strong> and<br />

Theron E. <strong>Gunn</strong>; nine grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and three greatgreat-grandchildren.<br />

Funeral Wednesday at Church - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ellen <strong>Gunn</strong> will be held<br />

Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock In Main Street Methodist church and will be conducted<br />

by the pan tor, Rev. W. L. Hanbaum. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> died Monday morning, Feb 17, 1941 at<br />

8:30 at the farm home of her son, Charles <strong>Gunn</strong>, near Waverly, Ill. The body is at Berry<br />

funeral chapel in Girard, Ill. where friends may view it up to 10 o'clock tomorrow<br />

morning when the funeral party will leave for Alton. The body may be seen in Main Street<br />

Methodist church in Alton from noon tomorrow to time of the funeral. Burial will be in<br />

Oakwood cemetery after the service at the church. Mrs. <strong>Gunn</strong> was born Sept. 23, 1858, at<br />

Girard. She had spent most of her life in Alton, Illinois.<br />

Mary Elliott <strong>Gunn</strong><br />

96, formerly of Birmingham, Alabama, died on Thursday, November 29, 2007, at her home<br />

in Bristol, Tennessee. She was born February 26, 1911, in Coushatta, Louisiana, a daughter<br />

of the late James Elliott and Sadie Elliott Wood. She received her B.S. degree in Nursing<br />

Education from the Employees Hospital of the Tennessee Coal, Iron, and Railway
