3. Set the reference level to +6 dBm and the display range to linear<br />

➢ Press the AMPT key and enter 6 dBm.<br />

➢ Press the RANGE LINEAR softkey.<br />

4. Use the video trigger to trigger on the AF signal in order to obtain a<br />

stationary display<br />

➢ Press the TRIG key.<br />

➢ Press the VIDEO softkey.<br />

The video trigger level is set to 50% if the instrument is switched on for the first<br />

time. The trigger level is displayed as a horizontal line across the graph. The<br />

R&S <strong>FSQ</strong> displays the 1 kHz AF signal stably in the time domain.<br />

The AM/FM demodulator in the R&S <strong>FSQ</strong> can be used to output the AF by<br />

means of a loudspeaker.<br />

5. Switch on the internal AM demodulator<br />

➢ Press the MKR FCTN key.<br />

➢ Press the MKR DEMOD softkey.<br />

The R&S <strong>FSQ</strong> switches the AM demodulator on automatically.<br />

➢ Turn up volume control.<br />

A 1 kHz tone is output by the loudspeaker.<br />
