SENSe Subsystem<br />

A delay between applying the gate signal and the start of recording measured values can be defined<br />

with SWEep:EGATe:HOLDoff.<br />

During a sweep the gate can be opened and closed several times. The synchronization mechanisms<br />

with *OPC, *OPC? and *WAI remain completely unaffected.<br />

The sweep end is detected when the required number of measurement points (625 in analyzer mode)<br />

has been recorded.<br />

Example: "SWE:EGAT ON"<br />

'Switches on the external gate mode.<br />

"SWE:EGAT:TYPE EDGE"<br />

'Switches on the edge-triggered mode.<br />

"SWE:EGAT:HOLD 100US"<br />

'Sets the gate delay to 100 µs.<br />

"SWE:EGAT:LEN 500US"<br />

'Sets the gate opening time to 500 µs.<br />

"INIT;*WAI"<br />

'Starts a sweep and waits for its end.<br />

Characteristics: *RST value: OFF<br />

Mode: A<br />

[SENSe:]SWEep:EGATe:HOLDoff 125 ns to 100 s<br />

This command defines the delay time between the external gate signal and the continuation of the<br />

sweep.<br />

Example: "SWE:EGAT:HOLD 100us"<br />

Characteristics: *RST value: 0s<br />

SCPI: device-specific<br />

Mode: A<br />

[SENSe:]SWEep:EGATe:LENGth 0 to 100 s<br />

In case of edge triggering, this command determines the time interval during which the instrument<br />

sweeps.<br />

Example: "SWE:EGAT:LENG 10ms"<br />

Characteristics: *RST value: 0s<br />

SCPI: device-specific<br />

Mode: A<br />

[SENSe:]SWEep:EGATe:POLarity POSitive | NEGative<br />

This command determines the polarity of the external gate signal. The setting is valid both for the edge<br />

of an edge-triggered signal and the level of a level-triggered signal.<br />

Example: "SWE:EGAT:POL POS"<br />

Characteristics: *RST value: POSitive<br />
