8.2 Maintenance<br />

8.2.1 Storing and Packing<br />

Maintenance<br />

For the storage temperature range of the R&S <strong>FSQ</strong>, see the instrument specifications.<br />

When stored for an extended period of time the instrument should be protected<br />

against dust.<br />

The original packing should be used, particularly the protective covers at the front<br />

and rear, when the instrument is to be transported or dispatched. If the original packing<br />

is no longer available, use a sturdy cardboard box of suitable size and carefully<br />

wrap the instrument to protect it against mechanical damage.<br />

8.3 Instrument Interfaces<br />

In this section, only a selection of connectors is described:<br />

• “GPIB Interface” on page 8.2<br />

• “Printer Interface (LPT)” on page 8.5<br />

• “RS-232-C Interface (COM)” on page 8.7<br />

For further information on the front and back panel connectors refer to the Quick<br />

Start Guide, chapter 1.<br />

8.3.1 GPIB Interface<br />

The standard instrument is equipped with an GPIB connector. An IEEE 488 interface<br />

connector is located on the rear panel of the R&S <strong>FSQ</strong>. An external controller for<br />

remote control of the instrument can be connected via the IEEE 488 interface connector<br />

using a shielded cable.<br />
