6. Select the peak detector and increase the sweep time to 10 s.<br />

➢ Press the TRACE key.<br />

➢ Press the DETECTOR softkey.<br />

➢ Press the DETECTOR MAX PEAK softkey.<br />

➢ Press the SWEEP key.<br />

➢ Press the SWEEP TIME softkey and enter 10 s.<br />

The R&S <strong>FSQ</strong> measures the adjacent channel power generated by the burst<br />

edges and the modulation.<br />

The peak power display depends on the selected sweep time. The longer the<br />

sweep time, the higher the probability of measuring the highest peak amplitude of<br />

the signal.<br />

With shorter sweep times, level dips can be seen in the time domain traces.<br />

These level dips come from the burst characteristic of the signal. The numerical<br />

results, however, indicate the peak amplitudes during the measurement in the<br />

corresponding channel.<br />
