The second part of this two-semester course is intended for students who have passed the
English level III test and would like to continue improving their language skills. It covers
general topics like education, sports, jobs, people, etc. All four language skills (reading,
listening, speaking, writing) are practised throughout the course which relies heavily on class
participation and motivated self-study. Additionally, students will practise giving presentations
and writing academic term papers. The level IV test will be offered in July 2004.

This course continues last semster's English for Comparative Religion. Here we will look into
cults, sects and new religious movements. The course relies heavily on students' motivation
and active class participation. Students are encouraged to give a little presentation on a subject
of their personal research interest. The course is not exclusively aimed at students who read
theology and comparative religion, everyone who is interested in the topic is welcome.
