C. Closers shall be adjusted to a range of 5 pounds to 8 pounds of force. Door shall latch
regardless of adjustment.
3.03 KEYING
A. The Owner will determine keying and install cores at or near the completion of the Project.
1. Door 109 to Fire Riser Closet is required by the local fire department to be keyed to
match the main entry door.
B. The Contractor shall provide and install Yale 1210 Interchangeable core cylinders at all
exterior doors. Coordinate with Owner for change over to the District’s cores.
C. Submit questions regarding keying in writing to the Owner’s Project Coordinator.
3.04 INSTALLATION OF FINISH HARDWARE
A. Install finish hardware in accordance with the "Hardware Schedule" specified in this section,
and in strict accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Unless otherwise
indicated on the drawings, set all finish hardware at the following maximum heights:
1. Cylinder dead locks: Center 48" above finished floor
2. Door Knobs: Center 36" above finished floor
3. Door Pulls: Center 40" above finished floor
4. Push Plates: Center 45" above finished floor
5. Top Hinge: Top 7" below head of frame
6. Bottom Hinge: Bottom 11" above finished floor
7. Center Hinge: Equal distance between top and bottom hinges.
3.05 HARDWARE GROUPS
A. General: Provide hardware for each door to comply with requirements of this Specification
Section, hardware group numbers indicated in door schedule and in the following schedule of
hardware groups.
1. Hardware groups indicate quantity, item, manufacturer and product designation, size
and finish or color, as applicable.
2. Provide hardware with BHMA No. 626 (US26D) finish, unless indicated otherwise.
B. Hardware for aluminum doors is specified in this section and provided by the door supplier in
Division 8 Section “Aluminum Entrances and Storefronts” with the exception of cylinders
which shall be provided by this section.
