2.01 PAYMENT FOR TESTING SERVICES
A. Initial Services: The Owner will pay for all initial testing services.
B. Retesting: When the initial tests indicate noncompliance with the Contract Documents, all
subsequent retesting occasioned by the noncompliance shall be performed by the same
agency, and the costs thereof will be paid by the Contractor.
2.02 CODE COMPLIANCE TESTING (SPECIAL INSPECTI0NS):
A. Inspections and tests required by codes or ordinances, or by a plan approval authority, and
made by a legally constituted authority, shall be the responsibility of, and shall be paid for by
the Owner.
2.03 TESTING REQUIRED BY THE SPECIFICATIONS:
A. Inspection or testing performed to fulfill other requirements within these specifications, shall
be the sole responsibility of the Contractor.
2.04 CONTRACTOR'S CONVENIENCE TESTING:
A. Inspection or testing performed exclusively for the Contractor's convenience shall be the sole
responsibility of the Contractor.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01 COOPERATION WITH TESTING AGENCY:
A. Representatives of the testing agency shall have access to the work at all times. Provide
facilities for such access in order that the agency may properly perform its functions.
3.02 SCHEDULES FOR TESTING:
A. By advance discussion with the testing agency selected by the Contractor, determine the time
required for the testing agency to perform its tests and to issue each of its findings.
Provide all required time within the construction schedule.
B. When changes of construction schedule are necessary during construction, coordinate all
such changes of schedule with the testing agency as required.
3.03 TAKING SPECIMENS:
A. All specimens and samples for testing will be taken by the testing agency, all sampling
equipment and personnel will be provided by the testing agency, and all deliveries of
specimens and samples to the testing laboratory will be performed by the testing agency.
