SECTION 09650 - RESILIENT FLOORING
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.01 SUMMARY
A Section includes resilient flooring, base and accessories.

1.02 SUBMITTALS
A. Product Data: Submit manufacturer’s technical data for each type of resilient flooring and
accessory.
B. Samples:
1. Samples for Verification Purposes: Submit actual sections of resilient flooring,
including accessories for each type of resilient flooring, and base required.
C. Certification for Fire Test Performance: Submit certification from an independent testing
laboratory acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction that resilient flooring complies with fire
test performance requirements.
D. Maintenance Instructions: Submit 2 copies of manufacturers recommended maintenance
practices for each type of resilient flooring and accessory required.
1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Manufacturer: Provide each type of resilient flooring and accessories as produced by a single
manufacturer, including recommended primers, adhesives, sealants, and leveling compounds.
B. Fire Test Performance: Provide resilient flooring which complies with the following fire test
performance criteria as determined by an independent testing laboratory acceptable to
authorities having jurisdiction.
1. Flame Spread: Not more than 75 per ASTM E 84.
2. Smoke Developed: Not more than 450 per ASTM E 84.
3. Smoke Density: Not more than 450 per ASTM E 662.
C. Installer’s Qualifications: Engage Installer who is certified in writing by resilient flooring
manufacturer as qualified for installation of sheet vinyl employing heat welded seams.
1.04 PROJECT CONDITIONS
A. Maintain minimum temperature of 65 deg. F (18 deg. C) in spaces to receive resilient flooring
for at least 48 hours prior to installation, during installation, and for not less than 48 hours after
installation. Store resilient flooring materials in spaces where they will be installed for at least
48 hours before beginning installation. Subsequently, maintain minimum temperature of 55
deg. F (13 deg. C) in areas where work is completed.
