SECTION 17000 – TELEPHONE AND DATA DISTRIBUTION
DIVISION 16000 ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS ARE RESPONSIBLE TO READ, UNDERSTAND
AND ABIDE TO THE SPECIFICATIONS OF DIVISION 271010 CONTRACTORS RESPONSIBILITY
AND THE SCOPE OF THE WORK THAT IS BEING REQUIRED
DIVISION 16000 ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE TO PROVIDE ALL PATHWAYS
(CONDUITS, CABLE BASKET TRAYS, WALL OR FLOOR PENETRATIONS, GROUNDING AND
BONDING TO ENABLE DIVISION 271010 CONTRACTOR TO INSTALL TELECOM CABLING
WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
PART 1-GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY:
A. Section Includes: Equipment, materials, labor, and services to provide a telephone and data
distribution system including, but not limited to:
REFERENCE: MDF-Main Distribution Frame IDF- Intermediate Data Facilities
1. Telephone and data cabling terminations
2. Optical fiber and terminations
3. Telecommunications faceplates
4. Terminal blocks/cross-connect systems
5. Equipment racks and cabinets
6. System testing
7. Documentation and submissions
8. The District will provide and install all computers and servers.
9. The District is responsible to patch all connections both in the closets and within each
location-the ports to be used will only be patched over, and dressed out within the
closets and locations.
B. Provide all equipment, materials, labor, and services, not specifically mentioned or shown,
which may be necessary to complete or perfect all parts of the installation. Ensure that they
are in compliance with requirements stated or reasonably inferred by the contract documents.
C. Work not included:
1. The following work will be done by others:
a. Off-site services.
