B. Aluminum Finishes: Finish designations prefixed by “AA” conform to the system established by the Aluminum Association for designating aluminum finishes. 1. Class 1 Clear Anodized Finish: AA-M12C22A41 or, 2. Baked Enamel Finish: AA-M4xC12C42R1x. Apply baked enamel in compliance with paint manufacturer’s specifications for cleaning, conversion coating and painting. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 INSTALLATION A. General: Locate sign units and accessories where indicated, using mounting methods of the type described and in compliance with the manufacturer s instructions. 1. Install signs level, plumb, and at the height indicated, with sign surfaces free from distortion or other defects in appearance. 2. Where no location is indicated, locate as directed by Architect. B. Wall-Mounted Panel Signs: Attach panel signs to wall surfaces using the methods indicated below: 1. Silicone-Adhesive Mounting: Use liquid silicone adhesive recommended by the sign manufacturer to attach sign units to irregular, porous, or vinyl-covered surfaces. Use double-sided vinyl tape where recommended by the sign manufacturer to hold the sign in place until the adhesive has fully cured. C. Remove existing classroom signs including any adhesives and clean wall. Install new signs as scheduled below. D. Dimensional Letters and Numbers: Mount letters and numbers using standard fastening methods recommended by the manufacturer for number form, type of mounting, wall construction and condition of exposure indicated. Provide heavy paper template to establish number spacing and to locate holes for fasteners. 1. Projected Mounting: Mount letters and numbers one-half inch from the surface of the wall. 3.02 CLEANING AND PROTECTION A.
