Тегеран, 1304 г.х.,The article briefly traces the history of monetary circulation and monetary works in the Safavid State,against the background of political events, beginning with the weakening of the State in the 1680s underMuhammad Khuda-bende and its renewal under the following Shah Abbas I until the end of the State in the1820s. Information is given about the coinage reforms of Abbas I in 1595, referring to the reduction of theweight of coins and the implementation of compulsory inflated exchange rates followed by emissions whichresulted in the revival of internal and foreign trade and influx of foreign, including European, coins into thecountry.
