10 (12:5-6) In alcune lingue (tra cui il greco e il latino) non esiste il fonema“sc” (“sc”
come in “scivolo”). Evidentemente nel dialetto ebraico in questione non esisteva
la fricativa “sc” o non vi era distinzione tra “s” e “sc” (almeno in quel determinato
vocabolo). Una situazione analoga si verifi cò durante la seconda guerra mondiale
allorché le truppe americane di stanza nei mari del Sud scelsero per le loro comunicazioni
radio la parola in codice “lalapalooza”. Avendo qualche diffi coltà a
distinguere le consonanti “l” e “r” i giapponesi tendevano a pronunciare “raraparooza”.
Eventuali messaggi radio falsifi cati da questi ultimi sarebbero stati immediatamente
scoperti.

e Mnshh). Il testo ebraico ha inserito una n sopralineare nel nome Mosè (moseh)
perché lo si leggesse Manasse (Menasseh). È evidente che questo sia frutto del
tentativo di uno scriba di salvaguardare l’onore di Gionatan, nipote di Mosè.
