great mayster of France, VI myles fro Caleys; at ye<br />

englysshe pale, the sayd great mayster, havynge<br />

two greate lords in his company of theyr ordre and a<br />

And the sayd greate mayster with dyverse other<br />

straungers dyned that daye with ye kynge. And<br />

after dyner, my lor<strong>de</strong> of Norffolke brought them<br />

forth on theyr way, a myle or two, and so <strong>de</strong>parted<br />

for that tyme. And on the mondaye,the XXI daye of<br />

october, the king of England toke his waye to mete<br />

with the frensshe kyng, at the place before appoynted,<br />

with VII score, ail in velvet cotes, afore hym<br />

lor<strong>de</strong>s and knyghtes and XL of his gar<strong>de</strong> and other<br />

to the nombre (as we thynke) of VI hondred horses<br />

and as well horsed as ever was seen. And ye kyng<br />

our mayster mette with the frensshe kyng at San-<br />
