Futuras pesquisas poderiam testar diferentes itens de preferência, de diferentes categorias
(sensorial, comestível, de lazer) com diferentes densidades de reforçamento, no início e no final do
procedimento, para avaliar os efeitos da escolha no desempenho dos organismos.
Faz-se necessário, portanto, identificar e analisar as relações entre o comportamento e os eventos
ambientais para assim programar contingências de reforçamento efetivas em sua prática, em qualquer
contexto (Escobal et al., 2010).
Deve-se encorajar cuidadores (e. g., professores, pais, e cuidadores na área de saúde) nas
comunidades a avaliarem e identificarem reforçadores para indivíduos com deficiência intelectual
regularmente e fazer do procedimento de identificação de reforçadores uma parte padrão do
currículo desses indivíduos (Escobal et al., 2010).
