reached America before the la st great glaciation (W'Ürm-'Wisconsin)<br />

would have to be of the Lithic horizon, or conversely any Lithic horizolJ<br />

in North America must in origin antedate the :W'ürm-\i\Tiscollsin glaciation.<br />

Originating in Á-\frica, the Osteic horizoll begills to spread into Europe<br />

and western Asia at about the time of the Achell glacial retreat. It bring:;<br />

in the use of bone in implement making. AwJs, spatulae, needles, scepters,<br />

weapon points, bla<strong>de</strong>s, gravers, harpoolls and the c1art-thrower<br />
