THE S2-YEAR MEXICAN CYCLE.
13 "Tlalpilli", or 4-year periods = 13 X 1,460 days ................. . = 18,980 days.
13 X 73 Feast := 13 X 73 X or 20 days.............................. .. . = 18,980
73 Tonalamatl (the Mexican Also 260-day period) = 73 X 260 .. . = 18,980
73 Tonalamatl := 73 X 13 X or 20 days ....................... ............. = 18,980
And the equivalent, according to European calendar: (52 years,
omitting extra days for leap-yrs. = 52 X 365 ........ .............. = 18,980
But the Mexicans could notuse the 36S-day year in their chronological
computations, for the following reasons:
1 st-365 is not divisible by 20.
zncl-A 36S-day year would not allow that every feast (zo-day period),
and every year begin with the same symbol. However, EVERY ME
XICAN FEAST AND EVERY MEXICAN YEAR BEGAN :WITH
THE SYMBOL "CIPACTLl". The TonaJamatl began with the symbol
Cipactli; and therefore, the first day of each new cyc1e bore the symbol
CIPACTLI and the numeral 1. Cipactli is the first of the 20 day-symbols,
as seen on the CALENDAR STONE, the different calendars, and
in the different codices. Moreover, there is a M exican legend that says:
"The deities CIPACTONAL and Oxomoco invented the first computation
of time, or, the original Tonalamatl".
