However, EVERY ME XICAN FEAST AND EVERY MEXICAN YEAR BEGAN :WITH THE SYMBOL "CIPACTLl". The TonaJamatl began with the symbol Cipactli; and therefore, the first day of each new cyc1e bore the symbol CIPACTLI and the numeral 1. Cipactli is the first of the 20 day-symbols, as seen on the CALENDAR STONE, the different calendars, and in the different codices. Moreover, there is a M exican legend that says: "The <strong>de</strong>ities CIPACTONAL and Oxomoco invented the first computation of time, or, the original Tonalamatl". ). Volume I, which is the In<strong>de</strong>x, shows that more than 900 Reports were sent, in strict compliance to His Majesty's commands.
