Los vecinos present

La fundación provisional <strong>de</strong> Jarufa..-La fundación <strong>de</strong> Lima: ésta fué <strong>de</strong>terminada <strong>de</strong>spués <strong>de</strong> que Pizarra hubiera fundado Jauja C0l110 segunda población <strong>de</strong> españoles en el Perú, y cuya traza tendió en el llano <strong>de</strong>l valle, al pie <strong>de</strong> la población indígena <strong>de</strong> Hatunjauja (Jauja-alta), pero siempre con carácter provisional. Consi<strong>de</strong>raba Pizarra que alejándose <strong>de</strong>masiado <strong>de</strong> la ciudad <strong>de</strong> San Miguel <strong>de</strong> 'Piura, "que había poblado sin haber, en tan gran<strong>de</strong> espa cio <strong>de</strong> tierra como quedaba atrás, presidio <strong>de</strong> soldados ni 'fuerza para COnservar lo ganado; y sobre. esto, atraído <strong>de</strong> la comodidad y aparejo <strong>de</strong> la comarca por ser un valle muy capaz, ameno, abun dante <strong>de</strong> mantenimientos)' muy poblado <strong>de</strong> indios (<strong>de</strong> lo que había <strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong>sengañarse <strong>de</strong>spu és), habiendo consultado con los principales <strong>de</strong>l campo, tomó resolución ele hacer en él segunda población <strong>de</strong> españoles. Señaló sitio y nombró por vecinos a los soldados, en quienes encomendó los repartimientos <strong>de</strong> inelios; as entándola en la ribera elel río, junto al pueblo <strong>de</strong> indios ll amado Hatunjauja, y estopor la vía <strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong>pósito, con intención que si <strong>de</strong>spués <strong>de</strong> explorada y vista la tierra se hallase otro sitio más cony(miente, se traslad aría a él, pero entre tanto, si rviese <strong>de</strong> presidio para enfrenar y tener en obediencia los indios <strong>de</strong> la comarca, que eran muchos que andaban inquietos y bulliciosos". Hizo esta fundación en I533, antes <strong>de</strong> su partida para el Cuzco. On:ge'n <strong>de</strong> la funda>c'ión <strong>de</strong> Lima,-Este es, sin duda, el origen d'e la fund ación <strong>de</strong> Lima.
