narrow band of paral1el incised lines and pl1nctate dots. At regular wid~<br />

intervals are thr. e low relief figures of an animal, possibly a monkey.<br />

The general aspect of this bowl is <strong>de</strong>ci<strong>de</strong>dly more Antillean than Isthmian;<br />

parallel ane! looped incised lines, punctat · e!ots and animal relie f<br />

being among the outstanding characteristics of Antillean cera111ics.<br />

The last two specimens <strong>de</strong>scribed th ~refore combine ree! wash, an\.:<br />

red fields on buff, with incised lines arrel punctate dots, and with both<br />

low and high relief, thus tying these s. veral featl1res into one complex.<br />
