The appendix looks round in short axis on all cases, and the lumen is distended with luid. The appendix is surrounded with inlamed fat. The gut

signature is preserved in the top two cases (A-D). The bottom case (E and F) shows loss of deinition of the wall layers, suggesting gangrenous

change.
