Ngenxa yalesi sizathu, lokhu kusho ukuthi uthisha akaboshiwe ukusebenzisa indlela<br />

noma isu elifanayo kuzo zonke izingane zakhe, kodwa ingane nengane yiyona okumele<br />

isizwe ngokwezidingo zayo. Ngamanye amazwi uthisha kulindeleke ukuba asebenzise<br />

amasu okufundisa ahlukahlukene. Isibonelo, u-AD-Heisat, noMohammed,<br />

noKrishnasamy kanye no-Assa (2009) benza ucwaningo ngokusetshenziswa kwamasu<br />

okufundisa ekuthuthukiseni ukukwazi ukufunda okubhaliwe kothisha basezikoleni<br />

zamabanga aphansi eMalaysia. Bathola ukuthi nanxa othisha babewazi amasu<br />

ababengawasebenzisa okufundisa ukufunda ezinganeni ezicathulayo ekufundeni<br />

umbhalo, babengawasebenzisi ngendlela okwakungalindeleka ukuba bawasebenzise<br />

ngayo (AD-Heisat et al, 2009, p. 310).<br />

Amanye amasu asetshenziswa ngothisha yilawo abawasebenzisa ngaphambi kokufundisa<br />

isifundo leso (pre-reading strategies), amanye yilawo abawasebenzisa ngenkathi<br />

ukufunda okubhaliwe kuqhubeka (during reading strategies), kanti amanye<br />

bawasebenzisa emva kwesifundo (after reading strategies). Lokhu kuchaza ukuthi amasu<br />

okufundisa ahlukaniswe izigaba ezintathu, kuye ngokuthi uthisha usekusiphi isigaba<br />

sokufundisa. Izibonelo zamasu angasetshenziswa ngaphambi kokuqala ukufunda (prereading<br />

strategies) yilezi: ukuxukuza ulwazi lwabantwana abavele benalo ngento ethile<br />

(activating prior knowledge), brainstorming, nokubikezela okuzokwenzeka (prediction).<br />

Kanti amasu asetshenziswa ngesikhathi ukufunda okubhaliwe kuqhubeka (during<br />

reading) yilana: ukufingqa ngamazwi umbhalo, ukwakha imibuzo ukuqhathanisa<br />

nokuhlola ukuthi bayalandela yini, ukuthola indikimba, i-visualizing, ukuzilungisa (self<br />

correction).<br />

Kanti amasu asetshenziswa emva kokwethulwa kwesifundo kubandakanya lana<br />

alandelayo: ukufunda ngokulekelelana noma ngokwabelana (shared reading), ukubuza,<br />

ukuqinisekisa obekucatshangiwe ukuthi kuzokwenzeka, ukubhala ama-assignments,<br />

namanye amaningi. Kodwa-ke nakuba emaningi kangaka amasu okufundisa ukufunda,<br />

lapha akuzukuxoxwa ngawo onke, kodwa kuzokhethwa ambalwa ahambisana nokufunda<br />

okusafufusa. Endimeni elandelayo ngizoxoxa ngamasu ambalwa asetshenziswa<br />
