4. The functions <strong>of</strong> the MTA imply likewise deontological<br />

responsibilities<br />

- Pr<strong>of</strong>essional competency will have to be acquired<br />

through the actualization <strong>of</strong> a formative staff training<br />

under supervision;<br />

- the training is aimed at supplying the operator with an<br />

indispensable technical competency and allowing him<br />

to attain a desree <strong>of</strong> psycho-Physical equilibrium<br />

suitable for obtaining a correct therapeutic relationship.<br />

5. For such pr<strong>of</strong>essionalism and, therefore, to accede to<br />

the relative role, a post secondary diploma is needed<br />

providins access to the practice <strong>of</strong> the Pr<strong>of</strong>ession itself.<br />

In our opinion, the Pr<strong>of</strong>essional pr<strong>of</strong>ile outlined in this<br />

way may be part <strong>of</strong> the roles <strong>of</strong> health operators<br />

(HEALTH SPHERE).<br />

The MTA will be able to carry out his own duties in the<br />

sphere <strong>of</strong> the regional social-welfare Projects,<br />

according to what is foreseen by the regional<br />

regulations (SOCIAL-WELFARE SPHERE).<br />

Finally concerning the SCHOLASTIC SPHERE, the<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Pr<strong>of</strong>ile <strong>of</strong> the MTA is to be identified with<br />

the figure <strong>of</strong> the support teacher, for whom a<br />

specialization in the field <strong>of</strong> music therapy may be<br />

foreseen durins the specific specialization courses.<br />

At the moment in Italy, the responsibility for educative<br />

interventions in state schools is the exclusive<br />

competence <strong>of</strong> the teaching personnel and in particular<br />

<strong>of</strong> the support teacher.
