The presentation will illustrate and discuss a wide range
of clinical techniques and theoretical constructs
emerging from the practice of improvisationalinteractive
music therapy. Topics considered will
include: the roles of musical elements and components
in the client-therapist contact, creative freedom, in the
context of clinical consistency, engaging the music
child, the dynamics of resistiveness and participation,
psychodynamic
therapy.

Examples of individual and group therapy will be
illustrated with video excerpts from therapy sessions at
the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Clinic at New York
University.
La presentación ilustrará y discutirá un amplio campo
de técnicas clínicas y fórmulas teóricas derivadas de la
práctica improvisatoria-interactiva de Musicoterapia. Se
incluirán tópicos considerados como: los roles de los
elementos musicales y los componentes en el contacto
cliente-terapeuta, la libertad creativa en el contexto del
acuerdo clínico atrayendo al niño-músico, las dinámicas
de resistencia y participación, los temas psicodinámicos
en musicoterapia evolutiva.
Ejemplos individuales y de grupo se ilustrarán con
extractos de vídeo de sesiones terapéuticas en el
Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Clinic de la
Universidad de New York.
