used to answer with a smile and he used to come in my<br />

arms; he half-closed his eyes with a blissful expression<br />

and he threw his arms round my neck.<br />

He started to use his legs always better: he began<br />

running, jumping, kicking the ball, riding a ciclette, He<br />

proved to understand better verbal language; he carried<br />

out complicated orders (but he wanted me to stay near<br />

him), He had aquired a great dependence from me; as I<br />

was more and ai-id more important for him, he even<br />

liked me more than his parents, This fact would have<br />

given me the opportunity (after having strengthened<br />

this phase) to incite G. to have new experiences with the<br />

certainty <strong>of</strong> my disposability. Little by little he accepted<br />

to carry out orders which made him go away physically<br />

(even if he was very unwilling to do this); however, he<br />

used to come back as soon as possible as if he needed<br />

an affective supplying (Mahler 1978).<br />

In the meanwhile there were changes in the sexual<br />

sphere: he had already began to touch himself the penis<br />

and to masturbate, He accepted to go to the bathroom<br />

to piddle or to defecate; he used to sit down on the toilet<br />

and he wanted me to hold his hands. I used to tell him<br />

not to be scared to loose something that belonged to<br />

him because later on he would have drunk and eaten<br />

and his tummy would have been filled up again, He<br />

used to look at me and smile, Once he began to jump<br />

and smile while he was sitting on the toilet: he seemed<br />

to be happy to defecate 'without danger (Kelin 1975).<br />

He also proved his fear <strong>of</strong> loosing something when he<br />

vomitad or he salivated too much: in fact he had the<br />

habit to pass his hand over what he had lost, as it he<br />

wanted to get it back again.<br />

Because <strong>of</strong> these good results, I planned an<br />

intervention in order to favour his socialization: I made<br />

him watch the rehearzal <strong>of</strong> the "concert" (it is a practical<br />

activity I educational- rehabilitative level), G, stayed on
