Music Therapists must see themselves as therapists
and not simply as musicians We have responsibilities
towards our clients, responsibilities to maintain our own
standards of work in music, in therapy matters and in
the bringing together of these. We also have ethical and
moral responsibilities towards our clients but also
towards society.
We are accountable to the society in which we live and
work to do that work in terms of the needs of both clients
and society.
Responsibilities should not, however, be seen as
work for the benefits of clients and their families. and for
the community as a whole.
