content of the imagery session is then processed by
The method of G.I.M. is closely aligned to Jungian
philosophy and analytic psychology where personal
issues are identified, explored and resolved. In the
G.I.M. experience early life memories may emerge, and
repressed emotions brought to the surface. The G. I.M.
experience allows these memories and emotions to be
worked through, bringing about new insights, resolution
Case Study: Faye
The client, Faye, is a performing musician and
composer, who referred herself for therapy to resolve
problems related to performer anxiety.
She is 40 years old, has been married for 12 years, but
has no children, by choice.
In describing her childhood Faye recalled instances of
physical and emotional abuse by both parents.
Faye has never been treated for emotional illness,
although she readily identifies stages in her life when
she was deeply depressed.
