visual, sense, motor disorders, problems with learning,
thinking, memory, attention, concentration, perception,
etc. Aphasics see their sense their life changed, as from
the moment of their illness nothing is like it was before.
The world as they knew it is no more.
In expression workshops, work is done with pleasing
experiences trying to discover possible paths towards
new plans for personal, emotional, working and
occupational life. They have been in existence for 4
years. At the beginning they operated in the
rehabilitation centre within the framework of the day
hospital of a general hospital. For the last two years they
have been operating in the Argentinian Asphasiology
Foundation, outside the hospital environment.
The main objectives are to:
Recover self-esteem + Improve the quality of life
+ Reappraise personal capabilities + Interrelate with
peers + Stimulate social contact + Organise free time +

Incorporate creative activities.
In the field of aphasia, the only previous experience was
in Poland, with M. Pachalska's team which started in
about 1978
This workshop is run by a Neurolinguist and a
Neuromusicologist. The patients who participate suffer
from different types and different degrees of aphasia.
Some receive reeducation and some do not.
The activities carried out are as follows:
Creation of sound poems, brainstorming of different
items based on a main theme, generation of texts from
given words, completing words or lines in songs;
association and integration of different cultural aspects
through musical, expressive and graphic, etc. means.
