examination <strong>of</strong> research topics and questions which are<br />

indigenous to the paradigm and revelant to the field,<br />

and methodological adaptations necessary in clinical<br />

settings. Research topics will be identified based on a<br />

distinction between those pertaining to the discipline<br />

(assessment, treatment and evaluation within the clientmusic-therapist<br />

relationship) and those pertaining to the<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>ession (how therapists interact and organize<br />

themselves). When researching these topics within a<br />

qualitative framework, three phenomena are proposed<br />

to be <strong>of</strong> primary interest:<br />

1. the in-vivo process <strong>of</strong> client-music-therapist<br />

interactions<br />

2. the experience <strong>of</strong> client(s) and/or therapist, and<br />

3. the musical products that result from the in-vivo<br />

process and experiences therein.<br />

These phenomena may be examined at several<br />

different levels, including: holistic description, analysis,<br />

differentiation, conservation, reconstruction, and<br />

corroboration. Methodological issues inherent in doing<br />

qualititative research in a clinical setting will be<br />

examined, and adaptations will be proposed.<br />

apropiadas como ejemplo y relevantes para el campo,<br />

y adaptaciones metodológicas necesarias en<br />
