Dicho tratamiento se inició hace 10 años, continuando
en la actualidad con tres sesiones semanales en forma
ambulatoria e individual. Se trabajó el diálogo corporal
con audición simultánea de melodías. Los instrumentos
utilizados como objeto intermediario son: piano, flauta,
melódica, instrumentos de percusión y otros materiales
como: aros, pelotas, resortes, bastones, cintas, etc.
Ante la falta de lengua verbal Willy adquirió y,
actualmente continúa haciendo, un código de
comunicación altamente significativo, desde lo gestual
a lo sonoro.
El paciente que en la actualidad tiene 42 años, ha
alcanzado un grado de autovalimiento dentro del grupo
familiar y su entorno.
Puede demandar ante la necesidad: acceder a la
incorporación de un "no" con las características
anteriormente citadas.

Eight years of experience at the Esquirol (Charenton)
psychiatric hospital near Paris, France, have provided
me with the opportunity of applying music therapy in the
treatment of profound mental and physical defects. Six
months to one year of music therapy were sufficient to
completely alter these patients' view of the world as well
as the world's view of them.
