students by a trained music therapist) for half a year<br />

(second half <strong>of</strong> the third year). Deals with "I/Self"-,<br />

"I/You"- and "I/Didactic"problems and ressources.<br />

7. Clinical practice. The students work with clients at in<br />

institution for half a year (fourth year <strong>of</strong> the program)<br />

under supervision (direct and non-direct). From<br />

unversity they get individual and group supervision in<br />

the same period.<br />

This half year deals with all the earlier mentioned<br />

processes ("I/You" etc.). - In this period the students are<br />

building up an identity as music therapist. The practice<br />

time ends up with an examination where each student<br />

must present a case study and state their way <strong>of</strong><br />

understanding music, human beings, music therapy<br />

didactics and make an account <strong>of</strong> the methods they<br />

have found relevant and the theoretical framework they<br />

have chosen for their work. This examination is -<br />

together with the masters thesis - the most important<br />

examination <strong>of</strong> the program.<br />

As you may have noticed the students during the four<br />

years go through a process, where they play a<br />

student/client role during the first two years <strong>of</strong> the<br />

program. They begin to take turns in student/client- and<br />

student/therapist roles in the third year (in situations<br />

more like roleplay). Nevertheless the first two years <strong>of</strong><br />

training and process work influence the third year in a<br />

way, that the students still work with deep personal<br />

processes when they start to work with each other<br />

under direct supervision.<br />

I will now present a music example from my former<br />

individual work with a student client.
