Sonuç olarak, LA hem yağda hem de suda çözünebilen tek antioksidandır. Okside antioksidanları
indirgeyerek yeniden antioksidan özellik kazandırabilmekte ve mitokondri içinde güçlü bir
antioksidan olarak aktivite göstermektedir. Bu anlamda “mucize bir antioksidan (19) ve evrensel
antioksidan (13, 14)” olarak tanımlanır. LA’nın kanatlı kümes hayvanlarının metabolizmasına
ve yemlerinde tek veya diğer antioksidanlarla birlikte kullanımına yönelik daha fazla bilimsel
çalışmalara ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır.
