El sentido que muestran las correlacionesobtenidas nos hacen entender que obviandoel efecto de la edad, la mayor producción seminaly menor concentración se podría obtener en otoño,cuando la temperatura mínima media de los 75-90días anteriores a la recogida ha sido alta, las horasde luz de los 1-75 días anteriores han sido pocas, yla humedad relativa de los últimos 30-90 días hasido baja, coincidiendo con lo expresado en lainmensa mayoría de los casos, más acentuadamenteen climas templados, y con menor intensidad en latitudesmedias o bajas (Roca et al., 1992; Summermattery Fuschini, 1995; Pérez y Mateos, 1996;Karatzas et al. 1997). Poco se ha investigado acercade la influencia directa que factores ambientales distintosal fotoperíodo pueden tener sobre los parámetrosreproductivos de los pequeños rumiantes, ymenos aún acerca de su efecto a largo plazo(Bruckner y Bauer, 1972; Fernández-Abela et al.,1993).
