The PCI-to-PCIBridge provides a connection path between two independent 32-bit or 64-bit PCI buses andprovides the ability to overcome PCI electrical loading limits. Additionally, both PCI busses aredesigned to support the 66 MHz requirements as defined by the PCI Local Bus Specification,Revision 2.2.The Intel ® 80312 I/O companion chip is a multi-function PCI device. The default configuration hasFunction 0 as the PCI-to-PCI Bridge Unit, and Function 1 as the Address Translation Unit. TheIntel ® 80312 I/O companion chip contains PCI configuration space accessible through the primaryPCI bus.1-2 Developer’s Manual
