Intel ® 80312 I/O Companion ChipPerformance Monitoring Unit11.6.2 Event Select Register (ESR)The Event Select Register (ESR) controls the specific mode of operation or indicates the currentmode of performance monitoring. There are eight (8) modes supported. To change the monitoredmode, it is necessary to write the entire ESR. The Programmable Event Counters and the GlobalTime Stamp Counter are reset when a new value is written to the ESR. Performance monitoring isdisabled in the default mode.Table 11-6 describes the various monitoring modes and the programmed values for those modes.Table 11-6.Event Select Register (ESR)IOPAttributes31rvrvrv28 24 20 16 12 8 4 0rv rv rv rv rv rv rv rv rv rv rv rv rw rv rv rv rv rv rv rv rv rv rv rv rv rv rw rw rwPCIAttributesnanananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananaIntel ® 80200 Processor Local Bus Address0000 1104HAttribute Legend:RV = ReservedPR = PreservedRS = Read/SetRW = Read/WriteRC = Read ClearRO = Read OnlyNA = Not AccessibleBit Default Description31:17 0 Reserved16 0 2PECRx Master Interrupt Enable: When set (1), any/all the programmable event counters interrupts theIntel ® 80312 I/O companion chip on an overflow.
