Knowledge depreciates and sometimes becomes outdated. Therefore, creativity has to be an
integral part of knowledge workers with the emergence of new business realities, emerging global
market, increasing involvement of the developing nations in new areas, and development of
advanced technologies. Demand of creative people has gone up beyond imagination in the last
decades because it is only they who could face the challenges of knowledge-based jobs. Some
organizations are able to identify the hidden talent of their people and forcing them to be creative,
while many not. Paper discussed the forces that come on their way to manage creative people.
1058.4 Facilitators and inhibitors of knowledge management practices in a learning

Applying a case study, an attempt has been made to identify the facilitators and inhibitors of
knowledge management (KM) practices in a large learning organization of India. A questionnaire
consisting 44 statements was prepared and given for rating the dimensions of organizational
learning like shared vision, systems thinking, personal mastery, mental models, and team learning
on a 5-point scale to the knowledge workers (N=141). KM vendors and users perceived structural,
behavioral, and management problems in the process of effective implementation of KM practices,
which are discussed. Facilitators and inhibitors related to cultural context, hierarchical system,
aging, mind-set, and attitudes were found crucial.
1058.5 Improving work environment innovativeness and knowledge sharing in a professional

To survive, and excel in the globe, professional organizations today have to foster their
innovativeness through knowledge sharing. Present study focused on individual-level variables of
work environment innovativeness, and knowledge sharing to investigate inter-relationship
between these variables along with perception of organizational culture, participation, and
procedural justice. A questionnaire, above mentioned variables, was administered on 154
employees of a technical professional government organization. The hierarchic regression
analyses and structural equations modeling showed that work environment innovativeness and
knowledge sharing were affected by the perception of organizational culture, participation, and
procedural justice. Paper discussed the findings and their implications.
