functional different systems. The distractor’s number variation caused different type of ERPs
waveforms in two enumeration processings. The results confirmed the argument that subitizing
and counting are two functionally different processings, they can be differentiated by the different
effects of the variation of distractors.
1110.3 Retrieval of categorical semantic knowledge through a semantic fluency task: Model of

This study explored retrieval processes of categorical semantic knowledge. Aims were (i) to
dissociate automatic vs. controlled processes and (ii) to define the dynamic temporal profile of
processes. Two experimentations were carried out. The first investigated categorical network
exploration through semantic fluency productions obtained in dual task condition (51 subjects).
The second studied the temporal involvement of processes across task (standard passation, 50
subjects). A model of categorical network exploration was proposed, based on a first automatic
activation spreading in the first time (horizontal exploration and labels retrieval), followed by
controlled retrieval processes (vertical exploration and exemplars retrieval).
1110.4 The developmental features of imagery ability and its relationship with
encephalofluctuography: A study of adolescent aged from 13 to 18, Jianzhong Wo, Chongde Lin,

In this study, 188 adolescents aged from 13 to 18 were recorded and analyzed by
Encephalofluctuography Technology (ET). And all subjects completed two imagery tasks
including sentence-figure matching and mental rotation. The results obtained were as follows: In
the two matching task, the powers of the high group in deferent area of several series are higher
than those of low group. It appeared different average powers of brain areas of the different
imagery ability with ages. The percentage of left-right power reverse is higher in the anterior area
than that of the posterior area for the low group.

1111.1 Language comprehension and production in l2: A bimodal approach to language

This study investigated the effect of various arrangements of modality on language comprehension
and production. One hundred university students in four groups received four different treatments
during one semester of study. In condition one, audio recordings were presented before visual
scripts. In condition two, the order of presentation of the materials was reversed. In condition three,
the same materials were presented in both modes simultaneously. In condition four, the materials
were presented aurally without any written script. Analysis of the performance on language
comprehension and language production tests showed different effects of the treatments on the
improvement of these skills.
