This paper compares admission rates, length of hospital stay and diagnosis among immigrants,
asylum seekers and Norwegian-born patients. All admissions to the hospital from 1995-2000 were
examined. Immigrants and Norwegians had the same relative risk of admission (1.07). The
relative risk of admission was higher for asylum seekers compared to Norwegians (8.84). The
number of admissions by coercion was highest among immigrants, and lowest among asylum
seekers. Admission by coercion was higher among immigrants than among asylum seekers and
Norwegians. We also found higher rates of schizophrenia among immigrants. These findings are
discussed from a cultural point of view.

To find own way to get self-realization in society, oriented to market economy, some part of youth
aware new social norms and demands wrongly. The problem behavior, drug using, HIV/AIDS,
conflicts with law are results of this. Needs of welfare leads youth to illegal forms of business,
such as sex-business, drug-using business. These activities are harmful as for youth, as for all
society. The alternative is to help youth in their self-realization, especially with problem behavior,
in their personal capital development. This is important psychosocial principle socialization and
re-socialization of problem youth in society, oriented to market economy.
